Dahlia (named after the botanist Dahl)
It propagates primarily via tubers in the spring. It grows in almost all soil types, though it thrives best in sunny, sandy-clay or clay-sandy soils. It is susceptible to very low temperatures. Due to the wide variation in plant type and height, as well as the shape, size, and color of its flowers, it is suitable for planting near buildings, in containers, on terraces, in gardens, and even within lawns.
