Dosage
Remove the old soil very carefully, taking care not to damage the roots. Soak Gemma’s special substrate for orchids. Place a layer of the wet substrate at the bottom of the pot. Place the plant in the pot, gently pressing the roots into the pot. Fill the pot with orchid substrate. Make sure to spread the substrate evenly. Tap the pot lightly so that the substrate is better distributed to the roots. It is important that the plant is anchored deeply into the substrate. Again, be careful not to damage the fleshy roots and avoid compacting the substrate too much. After placing the plant in the new pot, allow a few days before watering it again. This will give the roots enough time to recover from any possible injury during transplanting. Overly wet substrate can damage the plant’s roots.
Product Description
Orchids are extremely sensitive plants and need special protection from root rot. Good drainage and well-aerated substrate are essential to avoid excess water at the roots. Gemma’s orchid substrate achieves this goal and helps in their healthy growth.
Tip! It is recommended to water at most once a week with rainwater or deionized water. Avoid exposing the plant to drafts or direct sunlight. Use special fertilizers for Orchids such as Fytopan for Orchids, according to their instructions for use. Cut off the wilted branches below the third node to stimulate the formation of new flowers. To accelerate new flowering, place the plant in a new pot, in a cooler place (15-20’C) and reduce watering for at least a month.
