Tuberose (also known—incorrectly—as hyacinth, or *diatsinto*) / *Polianthes tuberosa* (from the Greek *polios-anthos*, meaning “white/grey flower”)
It propagates in the spring via tubers. It requires soil that is rich in organic matter, sunny, well-drained, and warm. Flowering begins four months after planting the tubers—specifically, from July or August. It is sensitive to temperatures below 0°C.
